The Bruce Highway Upgrade from Cooroy to Curra involved the enhancement and realignment of 62 km of roadway including the bypass of Gympie. The project was amongst one of Queensland’s highest priority road projects and aimed to meet the strategic transport needs of the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions for the future and improve road safety for all road users.

Eire Constructions was engaged to provide multiple crews to install stormwater drainage infrastructure for the entire length of the upgraded section of the highway. Multi-cell drainage lines were installed from 375 millimetres to 3 metres in diameter and included the placement of pits and headwalls. As well there was a requirement to design and construct crane pads to enable the placement of the larger pipeline sections.

Eire Constructions was able to comply with the rigorous quality testing regimes and stringent tolerances (10mm above or below invert) that are a part of the construction of a major highway, with zero notices of non-conformance.
